Evie is our special girl!
After we started trying to piece things back together, we ran into difficulties regarding bringing Sasha's line back. Unfortunately we gave full rights to so few people out of paranoia, that we ended up bottlenecked. One of Sasha's daughters ended up being sterile, and Hela refused to breed naturally. We had two failed attempts to breed Sasha herself before she reached an age I was no longer comfortable trying.
Thankfully Hela's co-owner, After Midnight Akitas, was willing to give one attempt with Hela and artificial insemination. The breeding took, and produced ONLY Evie, who was then raised with another female's small litter to avoid any temperament issues singletons can develop. I can't thank her enough for giving a.i. a single go just for me.
Evie is a sweetheart, and despite Hela herself looking like neither parent, Evie looks ripped out of Sasha!
She's a very smart puppy and is doing well in the show ring.
